What is 3D Scanning?

3D scanning is a fast, accurate and non-invasive way of producing a digital 3D model of a real world object.
Our handheld, portable 3D scanners use the latest cutting edge blue light technology to capture every tiny detail, at 0.05mm accuracy. Objects are scanned down to a fine resolution of 0.1mm, precisely capturing its physical shape without the need for intrusive tracking stickers like many other scanners.

The scan information of your object is recorded as cloud point data. We will then post-process and fuse this data into a usable polygon mesh model. This mesh is ready for import into 3D modelling and CAD software packages. The produced model can be directly used for 3D printing, animation and visualisation purposes.

Accuscan Precision 3D ScanningOur Scanning Process

We are the foremost providers of high-resolution 3D scanning services in Ireland and beyond. We specialise in the very accurate digitisation of small to medium sized objects. A scanned high-poly digital mesh can exported out in any standard 3D file format, with full colour if needed. We also offer a file conversion service for these would require a NURBS model for the likes of solidworks, etc.

Your parts can be sent to our workshop to be scanned, processed and returned to you in a quick turn around time.
Alternatively, our 3D scanners are completely portable, so we can go wherever you need us to be.  Great for objects that are too delicate or permanent to move, or for scanning people at a specific location.

As part of a reverse engineering or product design pipeline, the scanned mesh can be converted into a solid CAD model, and exported as sldprt., stp. or igs. files.
